How Fees Are Calculated

Symbiosis works on a pure performance basis, meaning that we only charge a fee when your portfolio is growing. We do this so that our interests are 100% aligned with yours.

We charge our fee (including GST) based on the gains made over the high watermark on a monthly basis.

Example Of High Water Mark

The below example shows how symbiosis capitals performance fees are calculated and charged. The above example assumes that on day one the investor invest $500,000. By 31st of January I’ll trading efforts have you ordered the 10% gain Increasing the net asset value to $550,000 after brokers fees and commissions.

At this point the performance fee of $18,500 is deducted leaving a net asset value after performance fee of $531,500 in the investors account.

This point also serves as the high water mark.

By 28 February the net asset value has decreased to $520,000 with an effective loss of $11,500.

For this month no fees are charged, so the net asset value remains at $520,000 while the high water mark remains at $531,500.

By March 31, the net asset value is back up to the high water mark at $531,500. For the month of March there are also no performance fees charged.

On April 30 the net asset value has increased to $550,000 and increase over the high water mark of $18,500. At this point a performance fee of $6,485 is charged.

The net asset value after performance fees is $543,515. This is also the new high water mark.
